Dear friends - growers of terrestrial orchids, I want to draw your attention to biological means against fungal diseases, which is registered and manufactured in the Czechia under the name "Polyversum Biogarden". It is based on the organism of Pythium oligandrum, "clever fungus", which destroys broad spectrum of other fungi. I tried this device for the first time this season against fungal root rot which was manifested in every season in my collection and caused a gradual weakening of my terrestrial orchids up to their total death. In addition, I also tried it with Cyclamen. The results was well above expectations.
Benefits include:
- Polyversum cannot be overdose
- not active against mycorrhiza
- it can be mixed with fertilizer.
Other features:
- does not act, however, against the bacterial rot (e.g. tubers).
- cannot be mixed with the normal fungicides.
It is used in Czechia against fungal diseases of agricultural crops.
I use the pure mineral substrate, Perlite + Seramis, as well as Jan ("Orchis pallens") but I don´t use any fungicides, of course.

I will try to find out whether the Czech producer http://www.biopreparaty.eu/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=54&Itemid=39 is delivering the product directly to Germany. The product can also be ordered directly at the Czech e-shop http://www.chytra-houba.eu/15,polyversum-biogarden-5g.html (e-shop also sends the product to EU countries.), but these pages are unfortunately only in Czech. In the latter case, I can buy the product myself and send it to Germany.
As I have found with the Czech manufacturer (the patent holder), the Polyversum product has a contractual distributor in Germany, but the product is not yet registered in Germany, so it is not sold there yet.
