Ich habe Hinweise, dass der Samen von Orchis laxiflora nach ca. 18 Monaten Lagerung im Kühlschrank etwa 2/3 seiner Keimfähigkeit auf dem A36-Pilz verloren hat.
Von Spiranthes spiralis ist der totale Verlust der Keimfähigkeit nach ca. einem Jahr hier auch belegt.
Disa uniflora keimt nur wenige Wochen nach der Ernte. Dagegen scheinen Dactylorhiza einige Jahre keimfähig zu bleiben. Die Lagerung erfolgte immer bei 5 Grad Celsius im Kühlschrank. Keine Erfahrung habe ich mit Lagerung im Tiefkühlfach.

All seeds are dried and then stored in an airtight vial in an air tight box in the fridge at 3C

My seeds were not airtight, I think they dried out to much.
I know at the Kew seed bank they dry the seeds to 15% of there original moisture content, before storing them in at -20°C in air tight conditions.
In the airtight boxes I put a sachet of silica gel, to keep the humidity down.
Yes, Neil, -20° stops conversion of most organic components in the seed strictly. At that temperature the seed cannot stand water due to blasting.
Maybe that is a better way to conserve seeds.
