In diesem Topf sind laut Etikett Orchis purpurea. Die linke Pflanze hat geblüht und ich habe es verabsäumt, ein neues Schildchen zu stecken. Aber ich denke, es war eine Ophrys. Sie hat 2 neue Knollen gebildet. Wenn das so weitergeht, brauche ich ein größeres GWH. Nein, Scherzchen! Aber es freut mich riesig, daß sie sich vermehren.

Yes, Orchis purpurea tries to get deeper into the substrate. The incidence of infection is visible on the left tuber of O. purpurea.

Thank you, Stanislav, for pointing out the beginning infection. I noticed the dark blotches but they are dry and the tuber is hard. Therefore I was not worried. Shall I use some powder of Carbo adsorbens or is it better bathing the tuber in fungicide? Or shall I put it in compost  ?

The answer is difficult, maybe it will not matter. I know from my experience that Carbo adsorbens does not help.  I use Czech biofungicide Polyversum with great success - see my post: https://www.orchideenkultur.net/index.php?topic=37594.msg444428#msg444428. However, it will not be probably available in Austria.

I went to the homepage which you mentioned in the other thread and I saw 129.00 for 5g.

Yes, about 5 EUR. 5g is enough for 10 liters for watering. The infected tubers can be powdered prior to planting.

The fungicides are not broud band normally, so You must have luck to have the right fungus at the orchid.

This is certainly true if we are talking about chemical fungicides. Polyversum as a biofungicide, however, is active against a wide range of fungi, eg. against Fusarium, which is currently causing blackening of roots and tubers. However, it does not affect mycorrhizal fungi. In addition, it also indirectly increases the resistance of plants to bacterioses. The broadband effect of Polyversum is also evidenced by the fact that it has a negative effect by the cultivation of champignons, for example.

Rudolf, wie hast Du den Keimpilz in den Boden geschafft? Hast Du Erdreich von Originalstandort im Garten ausgebreitet?
